The company was established in September 1990 as Kram. After an initial period of diversified commercial activities in Dec 1991, thanks to co-operation with Italian partners from Canelli, who provided us with advanced equipment, technical support as well as know-how, we started our first wine manufacture.

Already the following year we were able to buy all shares belonging to the Italian partner. We joined the two companies, Kram and Canelli, formally operating separately into the Joint Stock Company AMBRA, existing until now. Following rapid increase in demand for our products we invested in a green field, modern factory.

The following years were characterised by a constantly and sharply rising curve. In order to meet the expectations of the market we completely changed the companys organisation. We introduced new techniques of sales and marketing, planning and production. We developed the factory and warehouses, and bought a new production line. As a result, in 1994 already 18 million bottles of drinks were delivered to the market from our factory, which made us the Polish leader in the manufacture and sale of grape wines.

Yet, there came a moment, when future development of the company would be impossible without obtaining a strong partner with experience in running a big company, contacts all over the world, capital and access to the most modern technologies. We found such a partner in Germany. In 1995 the company Faber (currently Sektkellerei Schloss Wachenheim - SSW) became the shareholder of AMBRA. This agreement opened the way to renowned European suppliers and to modern equipment.

Regardless of the agreement with SSW we were dynamically conquering the Polish market. We purchased the rights to the following market titles: Michelangelo, Cin&Cin, Gran Cazzano, Russkoje Igristoje. Since 1997 we have also started manufacturing Dorato in the Czech Republic, obtaining there 10% of the market. All those investments gave concrete results: in 1998 the company sold nearly 40 million bottles.

Today we can take pride in being the most modern wine factory in the country, the only one that on a large scale runs the manufacture of sparkling wines with the method of, so called, double fermentation.

AMBRA S offer includes sparkling wines, table wines, vermouths, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. The current range of the beverages produced by AMBRA includes over 52 items, the flagship brands being Dorato and Cin & Cin, a sparkling wine, and vermouth produced in 20 varieties. Besides production, AMBRA has been developing import of wine from countries traditionally famous for wine production like France, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, and Germany.

AMBRA, a joint stock company has been supporting such cultural ventures as Borderland Foundation 2000 and The Theatrical Society. The company has been the publisher of -Ambra- a company bulletin, the organiser of numerous cultural and entertaining events aiming at the integration of the employees. In 1994, the Company founded the Bilgoraj Agency of Regional Development. In 1999 AMBRA joined the Bilgoraj Local Fund. In 2004 the 13^th National Winery Competition was held. AMBRA was awarded eleven gold and five silver medals for its products in all categories of wine. AMBRA products received almost one hundred twenty five awards overall in the annual winery competitions held in the years 1994-2004.
